Goldendoodle Coats

Golden Doodles are often said to have hair, not fur, but it's important to clarify that they can still shed. While breeders may claim they are non-shedding, this isn't always accurate. An F1 Doodle, which is a 50/50 cross, can inherit traits from the retriever parent and may shed more than expected. Conversely, a multi-generational Doodle is less likely to shed, but keep in mind that all dogs, like humans, do shed hair to some degree.
A Parti Goldendoodle looks like a fluffy, multi-colored doodle with at least 50% white fur and large patches of another color, like apricot, black, or chocolate, creating a unique "spotted" or "piebald" appearance with no two dogs looking exactly alike. They have the classic friendly doodle personality, but with a visually striking, flashy coat pattern that makes them stand out from solid-colored Goldendoodles, boasting extra flair with their fun color combinations.
A Merle Goldendoodle looks like a fluffy, curly dog with a unique marbled coat of patchy, swirled colors, often featuring grays, browns, blacks, and creams, plus striking blue or multi-colored eyes. It's a distinctive pattern, not a specific color, creating a "cookies and cream" or patchy look from lighter diluted areas mixed with darker base colors, making each doodle one-of-a-kind.
Traditional Goldendoodles showcase a stunning array of colors, including cream, white, black, apricot, and red. Each hue brings its own unique charm, allowing you to find the perfect match for your personality. As these puppies grow adulthood, their coats often lighten, adding to their captivating appearance.
